Every new mom deserves access to affordable quality maternity care to protect her health and especially her baby’s health. We believe too many women are sacrificing or risking their health because of the complexity and expense of delivering a baby in today’s healthcare environment. In our view, these financial and health risks are unacceptable.
Maternity Advantage is the only national organization devoted exclusively to maternity healthcare and its' affordability. Providing
advocacy services that enable our members to secure the highest quality affordable healthcare is our central mission.
Since 2002 our Maternity Advocates have advised, supported and serviced over
35,000 pregnant women. For families that do not have maternity insurance and
do not qualify for government assistance, our advocates can help reduce the financial burden of child birth.
We are experts in assessing and helping women weigh their healthcare and financial options.
All pregnancies are unique so the best approach for
you will vary from other moms because NO two pregnancies
are alike. Variables can include healthcare priorities, monthly budgets, state residency, family income level and provider preferences. Maternity Advantage understands that these all play a
role in qualifying or developing the best individual program. The Maternity Advantage programs are not appropriate for all situations and not all applicants will qualify.
Typical Member Profiles Include:
- Individual women who have an existing individual health policy but NO maternity rider that pays for their doctors, labs or hospital stay.
- Middle class families seeking maternity benefits and do not want to pay thousands of dollars more in unaffiliated rates for maternity health care.
- Single mothers seeking maternity care or a negotiated affordable solution that will fit into a limited monthly budget.
- Families who insist on top quality health care and don’t qualify for maternity insurance because of preexisting conditions.
- An employee of a company that provides benefits but does not include a maternity rider with their company’s group health insurance.
The transparent fact that our healthcare system is broken is not in dispute. The financial and emotional stress that this causes is being addressed by public policy experts, the health insurance industry and innovative private sector companies that are attempting to pull together all of the many resources, information systems and best practices.
The Maternity Advocates are trained specialists that help women and families review their options and make the best decision for their health care and long term financial welfare. |
