Robin Brooks

Robin was having her first baby but was worried about the doctor and hospital expenses. Robin work full time but made a little more than $20,000 per year. Robin was surprised when she was denied Medicaid.

Unfortunately Robin’s was living at home  and her household income including that of her family's was over the minimum amount to qualify. So she was not eligible for Medicaid benefits in the state she applied.

For Robin, having a baby was supposed to be exciting time and now it seemed stressful. Robin wanted the best medical care for her baby and knew she should not wait to see a doctor.

Our Maternity Advocacy Team took charge of Robin’s file and made certain that Robin’s experience was as stress free as possible. Robin enrolled with the Maternity Advocacy program. The Maternity Advocates found a creative combination of benefits and aid to help Robin afford her pregnanacy and find a doctor immediately that fit her budget.

Most importantly, Robin got to enjoy being pregnant

"The added expenses of a new crib, bottles, formula, car seat, new furniture and new clothes for my wife and at the same time baby-proofing the house was making our family very anxious. And, the medical bill around having a baby is expensive too. We were really feeling the pinch, but MaternityCard made having a baby affordable and that took the pressure off .I recommend it to anyone who is having a baby but doesn't have maternity insurance."
